The Alameda Superior Court has launched a new E-Filing Document Finder. This tool lists all document types available for e-filing through certified E-Filing Service Providers (EFSPs) by case type.

Lead Documents

The Additional Information column on their website indicates if a document is a lead document. This is important as the court only allows you to file one lead document per e-filing transaction. Lead documents include:

  • Case initiating documents (e.g., complaint, petition)
  • Moving documents (e.g., motion)
  • Responsive documents (e.g., answer, response)
  • Ex parte documents (e.g., ex parte application, stipulation and order)

Use the E-Filing Document Finder to ensure you select the correct document type and adhere to lead document filing rules, streamlining your e-filing process.
